Their pancakes and waffles are so light you won't know how much you have eaten until you get up from the table. Business people and college faculty devour the lunches the fried chicken fingers and gyros are marvelous and are two of the best deals in town. The atmosphere is 20th-century colonial. Located just two blocks from the historic area.

The Golden Horseshoe Grill has many other items on the menu, but the molasses-soaked St. Louis style pork ribs are a local favorite. Falling-off-the-bone tender, these are easier to eat than most ribs a good thing since this is not a place where you smear sauce all over the table. The shoestring fries are an excellent accompaniment. If you are not a pork fan but still want barbecue, try the chicken it is succulent and tender. Reservations are suggested
