Williamsburg, VA
Best Restaurants -(Barbecue)
Double "D" Ribhouse
(Restaurants - Barbecue)
7093 Pocahontas Tr
Williamsburg VA 23185
757-229-3166
Description:
The home of "authentic charbroil cooking" is located in a converted 7-11 on Route 60. But this is the best thing ever served at a former or current 7-11! Their pork barbecue sandwich comes with a heaping helping of coleslaw, French fries and a bunch of napkins you are going to need them. There are hearty appetizers, baby back ribs and pork ribs too. If you have room, try the root beer float for dessert. Take-out and catering are available. Not fancy, but good eating!

Golden Horseshoe Club House Grill
(Restaurants - Barbecue)
1000 S England St
Williamsburg VA 23185
757-565-8460
Description:
For eating good barbecue while overlooking a golf course, this is a great option! The Golden Horseshoe Grill has many other items on the menu, but the molasses-soaked St. Louis style pork ribs are a local favorite. Falling-off-the-bone tender, these are easier to eat than most ribs a good thing since this is not a place where you smear sauce all over the table. The shoestring fries are an excellent accompaniment. If you are not a pork fan but still want barbecue, try the chicken it is succulent and tender. Reservations are suggested

Josiah Chowning's Tavern
(Restaurants - Barbecue)
100 E Duke of Gloucester St
Williamsburg VA 23185
757-229-2141
Description:
COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG. Though it no longer serves food, this cozy tavern harkens back to the Colonial days by offering a full slate of nightly gambols. What's a gambol? Gambols are fun, bawdy games and songs that were popular in 18th century taverns and pubs. Patrons are encouraged to participate so order up a house ale and enjoy the scene. As for the atmosphere, the old pine floors, rustic walls and primitive furnishings will leave you wondering: Will Josiah himself make an appearance tonight? The gambols usually start around 9pm.

Peking B-B-Q Restaurant
(Restaurants - Barbecue)
120 Waller Mill Rd
Williamsburg VA 23185
757-229-2288
Description:
Some of the best barbecue in town is also the best value! Mongolian-style barbecue is not the Southern style many Americans are accustomed to; here you'll find slivers of well-seasoned meat seared on a grill. Served with rice, vegetables or noodles, the barbecue is intense. It's also a treat to watch the cooking! The buffet at Peking is legendary for its quantity, and the Sunday brunch is popular with locals.

Pierce's Pitt Bar-B-Que
(Restaurants - Barbecue)
447 E Rochambeau Dr
Lightfoot VA 23185
757-565-2955
Description:
To say this is a local favorite is an understatement. Right off Hwy 64, you can usually follow your nose or just look for the trucks parked along the highway to find it. The pulled-pork barbecue is cooked out back, and lines form early for take-out. There are a few tables inside, but take it somewhere else that is what the regulars do. The onion rings are a great accompaniment. This is award-winning, absolutely succulent barbecue, and people come from all over the state for it!
